I have started using craigslist recently in regards to my job, quick question, is there a way to embed youtube video's in craigslist postings? or even in village voice backpages.com postings?
On craigslist (or village voice backpages) is there any way to upload video in the ads or postings in any way?
Or can you only link to a video instead of embed one in there?
Before anyone asks, I work in real estate, and this would be really usefull.

I appreciate any kind of help and response, I use a PC at work, and a Mac at home, if that matters.

Shouldn’t you be asking on craiglist or Village Voice? They aren’t exactly bastions of conservative thought after all. Their discussion forums are worse than DU.

You should be able to embed almost any YouTube video.... the only exception I know if is that when a user is first posting a video on YouTube they have the option to NOT allow it to be embedded in other websites, but I think the vast majority of videos on YouTube allow it (probably just about all, since people want them to be seen). When looking at the video on YouTube just look to the right of the video, below the info and URL, and there should be a link that can be copied to 'embed' the video elsewhere:

I still haven't gotten a response back yet from the sites.

I’m pretty sure the answer is no. I’ve viewed thousands of ads and never seen any sign that this is done. Criagslist was always text.
When Realpeoplerealstuff.com started it was billed as Craiglist with video.

Can't you just put a link to the video hat you posted on youtube?

Can't you just put a link to the video hat you posted on youtube? If I can't find a way to embed, or any other way to upload video, that's probably what I'll wind up doing.

According to a post on this page, Craigslist does not support embedded video.

Oh, then it sounds like the other site(s) do not allow embedded video — they can block it on their end.

It would drive me nuts to have embedded videos like you propose. Just have the links and let people click through to them.
To: Kirkwood
Its actually very very easy to embed, using youtube, I just couldn't figure out why I couldn't do it on craigslist, I did find I can do it on the village voice, so thats good.
With craigslist, I'll just link'em.
